To further cement recent appointments to their Commercial Law practice, TressCox has today announced the arrival of a new Partner to the Brisbane office.
Leo Hopsick was previously a Partner at Herbert Geer and brings to the Brisbane Commercial team extensive knowledge and expertise in Energy, Resources, Mining and Infrastructure projects with additional skill in Project Financing.
He has over 20 years of significant experience in advising clients at major private law firms and as in-house corporate counsel at some of Australia’s largest construction, electricity and water corporations including Thiess Pty Limited, Ergon Energy and SunWater.
This appointment comes at a significant time for Australia’s energy and resources sector, the largest single export sector in the country.
Leo will work very closely with Garrick Higgins in Melbourne, National Partner for Energy, Resources, Mining and Infrastructure and our Construction Law teams in each office (consisting of Brian Ambler, Anthony Jefferies, Alistair Little in Sydney and Andrew Whitelaw, Bryan Thomas in Melbourne), so as to expand TressCox’s genuine National capacity in these areas.
Managing Partner, Peter Smith, is delighted with the new appointment, saying “These are all areas of practice we committed to grow as part of our strategy of being a highly successful, specialist law Firm so I am very pleased that we have been able to implement another component of our Firm's strategy and vision”.
